There are probably a hundred ways to finish a leather project. This is a natural vege-tanned piece, it has not been dyed. First you carve the leather. Then you apply a generous dose of Neetsfoot oil to refresh the leather inner fibers. I always allow 3+ hours for the oil to absorb.
The image background has been stamped down, but not dyed. The right edge has a natural cut, all other edges have been burnished with Tokonole, burnishing finish. This gives the edges a silky-smooth edge. No acrylic satin finish top-coat hat been applied.
